Anjalika takes on Tania in Under 18 final

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Young tennis prodigy Anjalika Kurera from Ave Maria Convent, Negombo qualified to the under 18 final in the 104th Colombo Tennis Championship defeating Alana Seneviratne in straight sets 6/0, 6/0 in the semifinals at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts yesterday.

In Saturday’s final, she will meet Tania Doloswala of Gateway College, Colombo who defeated Preethika Chandramohan 6/1, 6/4 in the other semifinal.

Anjalika has already bagged her second successive women’s singles crown beating Rukshika Wijesuriya 6/2, 6/2 on July 16. The tournament initially scheduled to be concluded on July 21 will continue until July 25, according to SLTA sources. This year’s tournament received more than 800 entries for 11 events. (DN)
