(UTV|COLOMBO) – A total of eight train journeys scheduled for later tonight have been cancelled owning to maintenance activities between the Pothuhera-Polgahawela stations.
Accordingly the Intercity Express train from Colombo to Batticaloa, the two night mails plying from Colombo to Talaimannar, the two night mail trains travelling from Colombo to Trincomalee and the two night trains travelling from Colombo to Kankesanthurai have been cancelled.
Meanwhile the Night Mail train that left Colombo to Kankesanthurai yesterday has collided with a wild elephant near Omanthai.
