“Youth moving away from politics”- says Premier Ranil

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the country’s youth moving away from politics is a negative sign.

Speaking at an event in Polpithigama the Premier said the government is considerate of ideologies among youth.

The Premier said youth have entirely moved away from politics, and they are of the stance that they won’t vote for anyone.

Pointing out that this is not healthy for a political system, the Prime minister said it is a bad mark on politics.

The Premier said in order to change this situation, facts such as the changes made in society, and how the economy was lifted from disarray and the country’s debt has been paid off, can we pointed to.

Although the government commenced many development projects the Premier observed that youth are moving away from politics.
