“Defence forces worked to prevent any more attacks” – Sec. Def. Shantha Kottegoda

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Secretary of Defence Shantha Kottegoda says all defence forces led by the tri-forces are dedicated to ensuring the safety of the country and assuring the public of national security.

Speaking at a media briefing held the Ministry of Defence today the Defence Secretary said any more attacks following the April 21st bombings were prevented because of the hard work of the defence forces.

He said the Tri-forces, the Police force, Civil security forces and all intelligence agencies, were committed and working around the clock to prevent any repetition of the attack which occurred on the 21st.

He stressed even at this moment, all efforts are focused on safeguarding national security.
