“US govt. will not buy, sell, or own actual land in Sri Lanka” – Alaina B. Teplitz

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United States says it will continue to work cordially with all Sri Lankan administrations even after the conduct of forthcoming elections.

United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina Teplitz said the US supports the will of the people and stands ready to work with whichever government is elected at the next election.

Ambassador Alaina Teplitz during a live Facebook chat session yesterday (17th) discussed the strength of the US-Sri Lanka relationship and addressed recent misinformation that have been circulated via numerous platforms.

The Ambassador reiterated that the United States has no intention of building a military base or establishing a permanent military presence in Sri Lanka.

She noted that the US extends support and assistance to the people of Sri Lanka on invitations extended by incumbent Sri Lankan governments.
