Ramudi, D. A. Peiris best swimmers at NSF

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Western Province emerged overall champions winning 64 medals including 27 gold, 23 silver and 14 bronze as the 45th National Sports Festival swimming (NSF) championship concluded at the Sugathadasa Swimming complex yesterday.

Central Province became runnerup with 24 medals including five gold, nine silver and 10 bronze while North Western Province secured the third place witha medal tally of eight comprising two gold, a silver and five bronze.

Ramudi N. Samarakoon of Western Province who established two new meet records and obtained 15 points was adjudged the Best female swimmer while D. A. Peiris of Western Province who went on to set up three new meet records and collected 15 points was awarded as the best male swimmer. (DN)
