CID permitted to question IGP over lift incident

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on Friday (05) permitted the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to record a statement from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara who has been remanded in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, over a complaint lodged by the lift operator of the Police Headquarters.

Accordingly, a statement is to be recorded from the IGP with regard to the investigations into a complaint made by the lift operator that he was intimidated and harassed by the IGP at the Police Headquarters in 2017.
