Thirteen acquitted in Trincomalee murder trial

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Thirteen Police Personnel, who were charged over shooting and killing of 5 persons in 2006, have been acquitted of all charges and released by the Trincomalee High Court on Wednesday (04).

Thirteen suspects including 12 attached to the Special Task Force (STF) and a Police Personnel held in connection with the killing of 5 persons including 2 undergraduates and injuring 2 others by shooting near the Gandhi Roundabout in Trincomalee in 2006 were acquitted as adequate evidence was not submitted against them.
