“Whoever wins Presidency should abolish 19th Amendment” – President

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena on Wednesday (26) stated that the 19th Amendment to the Constitution should be abolished in order to create stability in the country.

The President made this remarks at the gathering of Heads of Media Institutions held at the Presidential Secretariat today.

Accordingly, whoever comes to power following the forthcoming Presidential Election should take measures to abolish the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, he stressed.
