Ravi and wife ordered to appear before CID

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Power, Energy, and Business Development, Ravi Karunanayake and his wife have been ordered by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on 07 July in connection with making false statements before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into the Issuance of Treasury Bonds.

Minister’s daughter Onella Karunanayake also ordered to be present before the CID on 25 and 26 June to give a statement and present financial records of Global Transportation and Logistics Limited.

Karunanayake and his wife were supposed to present themselves before the CID on 19 May, but their lawyers had informed the Court that they were unable to do so as they were overseas.
