CID team in Saudi to bring back NTJ member

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A special team attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had reportedly left for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (11) in an attempt to bring back a suspect linked to the National Thowheed Jama’ath (NTJ) Organisation, who is currently in Saudi Police custody.

Mohamed Milhan alias Abu Seelan was also said to have been ready for a suicide attack in Sri Lanka, the Sate-owned Daily News reported on Thursday (13).

It reported that Milhan was responsible for the killing of 2 Police Constables at a checkpoint in Vavunathivu in Batticaloa on 30 November, 2018.

The diplomatic-level discussions were underway to attempt to bring Milhan back to Sri Lanka to commence investigations over his crimes.
