President leaves for Tajikistan [UPDATE]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – UPDATE: President Maithripala Sirisena left for Tajikistan for a 2-day State visit, a short while ago.

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to leave for Tajikistan for a 2-day State visit on Thursday (13).

He will take part in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) conference, in Tajikistan’s Capital Dushanbe.

The Conference is being held for the 5th time this year from 14 – 15 June.

Several Heads of States including Leaders of China and Russia are expected to attend the Conference. Accordingly, President Sirisena will hold bilateral meetings with Heads of States on the sidelines of the Conference.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also left for Singapore on Wednesday (12) on a 2-day State visit.
