‘Sakvithi Ranasinghe’ bailed out

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Abhaya Ranasinghe Mudiyanselage Chandana Weerakumara alias ‘Sakvithi Ranasinghe’ who was in remand custody for ten years has been granted bail.

The order was issued by a three member bench of the Colombo High Court today.

‘Sakvithi Ranasinghe’ was in remand custody since September 2009.

Three cases were heard against ‘Sakvithi Ranasinghe’ before the Colombo High Court pertaining to financial fraud amounting to Rs.1.6 billion.

Various sources says that ‘Sakvithi Ranasinghe’ was issued a Rs.600,000 cash bail and six surety bail amounting to Rs.11 million collectively for the three cases filed against him.
