Modi’s makes stop at the St. Anthony’s Shrine

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his visit to Sri Lanka by paying his respects at the St. Anthony’s Shrine, in Kochchikade, one of the sites of the Easter Sunday bombings.

The Premier conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and the injured.

The Prime Minister said he is confident Sri Lanka will rise again claiming cowardly acts of terror cannot defeat the spirit of Sri Lanka.

The Premier expressed India’s solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka.

The Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith was also present at the occasion.
