“I resigned to prevent another Black July” – Rishad [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen emphasised that he did not step down from his Ministerial portfolio in fear of the No-Confidence Motion presented against him.

“Since some are attempting to create another Black July between innocent Sinhalese and Muslim communities,” the former Minister Bathiudeen said that he had withdrawn from his Ministerial portfolio in order to prevent such a move.

In an interview with the BBC Sinhala, the ACMC Leader categorically and vehemently denied the claims levelled against him stating that that there is no truth in the allegations, and reiterated that the allegations against him was a political contract of a racist faction.
