Increased migrations a concern- President

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena says a number of concerns have arisen over the annually reported migration of doctor and nurses.

Speaking during an event in Colombo President Sirisena said the number of specialist doctors and nurses migrating has risen over the past few years.

The Head of State noted in addition, the number of health sector experts retiring from service has also increased.

President Maithripala Sirisena therefore stressed the number of doctors and nurses employed in the health sector, is insufficient to meet the country’s demand.
