Parcels to be transported via train again

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The transportation of parcels via rail service which was temporarily halted following the Easter Sunday attacks will recommence today.

The government said the Department of Railways incurred a loss of Rs.16 million due to the halt in transportation of parcels.

Special measures will be in place to inspect goods that are being transported via train.

The Department of Railways said passengers must also be vigilant of the same.

The Railway Department added, Station Masters must take responsibility if motorbikes are being transported.
