“Allegations against Minister Bathiudeen completely false” – Ashu Marasinghe [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian Professor Ashu Marasinghe on Wednesday (22) stated that the Parliamentary Select Committee should be held first to find out the perpetrators of the Easter Sunday attacks on 21 April, which killed over 250 people.

Marasinghe stressed that the allegations against the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training and Skills Development, Rishad Bathiudeen are completely false.

“I inquired from the Army Commander to know if Minister Bathiudeen interfered in his investigations,” Marasinghe said in Parliament, adding that “He answered in the negative and said that Minister Bathiudeen only made a request. According to the country’s political culture Politicians do so.”
