AG yet to advice Police on Vijayakala

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Police today informed Court that they are yet to receive the advice of the Attorney General pertaining to action that should be taken against State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran on charges that she made a pro LTTE statement.

The Organized Crimes Prevention Unit informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne of the developments when the case was taken up for hearing today.

The State Minister was charged over making a pro LTTE statement during a function in Jaffna last year.

The Chief Magistrate instructed for a reminder to be directed to the Attorney General seeking his advice.
