The Minister also highlighted the need to amend existing Immigration and Emigration laws.

Minister Abeywardana said the government during a short period, while identifying all those responsible in the terror attacks, are now introducing new laws.

He explained that the We introduction of the Counter Terrorism Bill is important to combat global terrorism.

United People’s Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Keheliya Rambukwella joining the debate said the establishment of religion based political parties should be prohibited in order to prevent extremist terrorism.

The MP said if a long term solution to the present issue is required, it should not be bases on race or religion.

MP Rambukwella noted that formation of small parties like this that does not even amount to 5% is what is leading to such incidents.
