Bail granted to suspects at Wellampitiya factory to be investigated

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU) commenced an investigation to determine whether any errors have been made in granting bail to 9 suspects arrested at the copper factory in Wellampitiya.

Investigations have revealed that the copper factory was owned by one of the terrorists who carried out the coordinated suicide bombings on Easter Sunday (21).

Nine of the 10 copper factory workers who were arrested on 22 April and remanded over their alleged involvement in preparing bombs for the attacks were released on bail on 06 May.
