National Vesak Festival limited to 2-days

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government has decided to limit the National Vesak Festival this year to 17 and 18 May.

The Mahanayake Theras of all Chapters also urged the public to refrain from holding large scale Vesak celebrations where large crowds gather, in view of the security situation prevailing in the country.

The Mahanayake Theras advised the public to give priority to the spiritual aspect of Vesak instead.
