Increase in student turnout at schools

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The student turnout at schools island-wide has increased when compared to Monday (06), it is learnt.

Schools re-opened for the second academic term with a low student turnout in most areas amidst heavy security, 2-weeks after the coordinated suicide bombings on Easter Sunday (21) forced Authorities to close the educational institutions.

However, classes of only Grade 6 students and above commenced, while the second academic term for Grade 1 to 5 will commence on 13 May.
