800 artillery shells discovered in Ekala

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police have discovered over 800 artillery shells during search operations in Ekala, Ja-Ela.

The shells were discovered at a private factory manufacturing steel wires.

The raid was carried out by officers of the Negombo Crimes Division.

Police also found over 100 empty shells of bullets used for T-56 assault rifles at the location.

Further investigations are underway.
