Maldives Police vows to assist Sri Lanka over terror attacks

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Commissioner of Police (CP), Mohamed Hameed has said that Maldives Police Service is ready to provide any assistance to Sri Lanka following the terror attacks.

CP Hameed said this after signing the Book of Condolence at the Sri Lankan Embassy on Sunday (28).

Sri Lankan Authorities are conducting a special search operation following the coordinated attacks on Churches and luxury hotels last week, which left more than 250 people dead and 500 injured.

Six Maldivians have been arrested in the search operation.

While Maldives’ own security has been tightened after the attacks, Security Forces have stated that there is no immediate threat to the country.
