Muslims requested not to gather for prayers today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Minister of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs, Abdul Haleem on Thursday (25) appealed the Muslims to refrain from gathering for congregational prayers on Friday (26).

Haleem stated that the Muslims should instead pray in their homes for peace and security for the country as sign of solidarity with the Catholic community and a show of protest against the barbaric act of the ruthless terrorists.

The Minister in a statement prayed that the Almighty Allah destroys the activities of these inhuman terrorists.

“We stand with our Christian brothers and sisters during their times of grief,” he said in the statement.
