Easter Blasts in Sri Lanka: Police say 24 suspects arrested

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police Media Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ruwan Gunasekara said 24 suspects have been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the bombings in Sri Lanka.

The CID is currently interrogating the suspects arrested over the attacks, he stated.

In a statement, Gunasekara said Police have obtained a vehicle they suspect was used to transport the suspects into Colombo. Police also found a safe house used by the attackers, it added.

At least 290 people were killed and 500 more injured in a series of explosions across Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday (21), one of the most sacred days of the year for Christians.
