Rail transport along Northern line restored

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Rail transportation along the Northern Railway line has been restored after a train derailment hampered operations yesterday.

The Railway Control room said the compartment of the train that derailed has been re-railed.

Railway services along the Northern railway line were hampered due to a Matara bound Jaffna train derailing in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura.

A compartment of a weekend express train derailed between the Saliyapura and Parasangahawewa railway stations.
