Stern action against vehicles with unauthorised VIP lights, horns from July 01

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Stern legal action will be taken against vehicles found utilising unauthorised lights including VIP LED flashlights, and horns which cause noise pollution from 01 July, the Police stated.

This also applies to vehicles used by Politicians with VIP LED flashlights. However, Ambulances, Fire Engines, and Disaster Rescue and Police Vehicles would be exempted from this law.

A grace period has been provided to motorists to remove unauthorised lights and horns till 30 June.
