PAFFREL case on Local Government election in Court

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Election monitoring body of the People’s Action for a Free and Fair Election will produce details before Court today pertaining to the delay in the conduct of the Local Government (LG) election.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, the Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that they intend to encourage the prompt conduct of the election through the means of Court.

The case will be taken up for hearing before a three member bench comprising Chief Justice Priyasath Dep and Judges Upali Abeyratne and Nalin Perera.

When the case was last taken up President’s Counsel Attorney Romesh de Silva informed the Supreme Court that the delimitation report will be gazetted after subject Minister Faizer Mustapha studies the report thoroughly.
