Navy recovers a haul of beedi leaves floating in sea [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A group of RABS Personnel attached to the North-Western Naval Command, recovered a haul of beedi leaves floating in the sea which was 1,232.5 kilogrammes in weight, during a patrol carried out in Udappuwa sea area on Tuesday (26).

This recovered haul was packed in thirty-five parcels.

Accordingly, over 7,000 kilogrammes of beedi leaves which were attempted to bring to the island in illegal means, had been apprehended by the patrols and raids carried out by the Navy during the past months of this year and the process of preventing such smuggling attempts, is continued.
