Minister Bathiudeen responds to baseless accusations on Wilpattu [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development, and Vocational Training and Skills Development, Rishad Bathiudeen on Friday (22) told Parliament that he has been unfairly criticised on social media over the Wilpattu issue.

Minister Bathiudeen emphasised that neither he nor have the Muslim community caused any damage to the environment, and the land for the resettlement was handed over in 2012.

He reiterated that not a single inch of land had been given to Muslim community after 2012 and requested Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to conduct an investigation and take action against those responsible for any irregularity.
