Nic Cage does sci-fi combat in “Jiu Jitsu”

(UTV|COLOMBO) – He’s only just finished filming one sci-fi project, now actor Nicolas Cage is jumping to another with the actor set to star in the aliens vs. martial arts action film “Jiu Jitsu” based on the comic of the same name.

“Kickboxer: Retaliation” director Dimitri Logothetis helms the project set in a world where every six years, an ancient order of expert jiu jitsu fighters faces a fearsome extraterrestrial invader in a battle for Earth. For millennia, the fighters who protect Earth have played by the rules… until now.

Alain Moussi plays Jake, a celebrated war hero and master jiu jitsu fighter who refuses to face Brax, the indomitable leader of the invaders and soon finds himself waking up injured and with severe amnesia.

Cage plays Wylie, a member of a team of fellow jiu jitsu fighters who must help him recover his memory and regain his strength in order to band together and defeat Brax. Logothetis and Jim McGrath penned the script.

Cage recently wrapped filmmaker Richard Stanley’s new film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Color Out of Space”.
