(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – MP Dinesh Gunawardana has written to the Speaker stating that he approves of MP Dallas Alahapperuma to take on the responsibility of Acting Leader of the Joint Opposition (JO) in his absence.
MP Gunawardana was suspended from parliament for a week on Wednesday (08th).
MP Wasudeva Nanayakkara enquired with regard to this matter from the Speaker yesterday (09th).
Later, our news team contacted United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) General Secretary Minister Mahinda Amaraweera to comment on this matter.
He stated that if a request is made he will consider after a discussion.
