James Bond to drive an electric Aston Martin

(UTV|COLOMBO) – James Bond has driven all kinds of vehicles across his twenty-four official films so far, and now he’s adding an electric car to the garage.

The Sun reports that the next Bond film will reportedly feature Daniel Craig’s iconic MI6 spy driving an Aston Martin Rapide E, one of just 155 cars of a model the company is making with each costing USD$283,000.

A source tells the paper the decision was spearheaded by director Cary Fukunaga who is working directly with Aston Martin to get one of their electric cars ready for its big close-up as the centre of a major action sequence in the movie.

Production is slated to begin on the new 007 adventure, Craig’s final outing in the role, next month. Rami Malek is tipped to play the villain in the film opening April 8th 2020.
