Maldives Opposition to campaign in Sri Lanka today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has announced that they will be hosting a parliamentary campaign event in Sri Lanka, the Raajje MV reported.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections in April, the party launched their Agenda 19 campaign slogan.

The event will be held at 7.00 PM on Wednesday (13) at Shahran Banquet Hall, Kalubowila.

Several Government Ministers will be joining the event along with former President and MDP Leader, Mohamed Nasheed.

MDP has appealed on all Maldivian residents living in Sri Lanka to participate in the event.

While the main ruling party’s campaign activities are blowing full steam ahead, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is seen to be joining the weekend activities held in outlying islands.

As such, last weekend the President and former President Nasheed travelled to Addu City to launch the campaign events of their candidates in the many districts of the city.

President Solih is scheduled to visit three atolls this weekend as well. He will be travelling to Vaavu, Lhaviyani and Noonu atolls.
