Dalai Lama and President Sirisena to attend cultural event at Nalanda

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Ven. Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, and President Maithripala Sirisena will be attending a three-day International Buddhist Conclave on 17th March, at Nalanda, India.

The programme is organized by the Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, a University near the Nalanda University ruins, and the Union Ministry of Culture at the International Convention Centre, Rajgir.

Over 150 Southeast Asian monks and many worldwide delegates are expected to participate.

Niladri Kumar, a Grammy Award winning guitarist, and Sovana Narayan, a renowned Kathak dancer will add colour to the event. Over a 100 folk artists will also be joining the festivities.
