Special High Court releases ‘Ali Roshan’; Says no jurisdiction to hear the case

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Permanent High Court at Bar on Thursday (07) released Niraj Roshan alias ‘Ali Roshan’ and six others stating that it has no jurisdiction to hear cases related to illegal possession of elephants.

Roshan was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for engaging in the illegal elephant trade and were later released on bail.

He is charged with capturing elephant calves in an inhumane manner from forests and selling them for profit to high-profile individuals.
