Rathgama Murders: Former Southern Province SIU OIC arrested

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Former OIC of the Southern Province Special Investigation Unit Inspector Saman Rohana was arrested by CID yesterday evening.

According to Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera, he was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the abduction and killing of two businessmen in Rathgama.

Manjula Asela, 31, and Rasen Chinthaka, 31, of Rathgama, Boosa had been abducted by a group of persons in Police uniform who had arrived in a van and a car at around 10 a.m. on January 23.

Four officers of the unit have been arrested in connection with the abduction and killing of these businessmen.
