Rathgama Abduction: CID investigations reveal missing businessmen were killed and burnt

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have revealed that the two businessmen who went missing in Bossa – Rathgama, were murdered in Akmeemana and their remains were burned at Medagangoda Forest Reserve in Walasmulla.

Earlier on Friday (22), the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Southern Province Special Crime Investigation Unit along with fifteen other Police Officers were ordered to be transferred over the incident.

Meanwhile, a Police Inspector (IP) and a Sub Inspector (SI) attached to the Southern Province Special Crime Investigation Unit were arrested over the disappearance of the two businessmen, 33-year-old Manjula Asela and 31-year-old Rasen Chinthaka who were allegedly abducted from the residence of Asela last month by a group of individuals dressed in uniforms similar to that of the Police Officers.
