Netflix nabs Chris Evans’ “Red Sea”

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights, excluding China, to the war drama “The Red Sea Diving Resort” starring Chris Evans, Haley Bennett, Greg Kinnear, Ben Kingsley, Alessandro Nivola, Michael Kenneth Williams and Michiel Huisman.

Evans plays Ari Kidron, the Mossad agent who led a mission to transfer of thousands of Ethiopian Jews who were stuck in refugee camps in Sudan and deliver them to the Jewish state.

The agency established a covert forward base in a deserted holiday village in Sudan and deployed a handful of operatives to launch and oversee the exodus throughout the early 1980s. “Homeland” creator Gideon Raff helms the film which will hit the streamer later this year.
