Navy apprehends 4 persons engaged in fishing without valid passes

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Naval Personnel attached to the North-Western Naval Command during routine patrol conducted in the sea area of Kudiramalei on Monday (11) apprehended four persons for engaging in fishing activities without valid fishing passes.

The Navy also took 21 kilogrammes of illegally caught fish, a dinghy, an unauthorised fishing net, and several other fishing gear into Naval custody.

The apprehended persons along with their belongings were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for onward investigation.
