STF Commandant Latiff retires today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Special Task Force (STF) Commandant Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), M. R. Latiff is to retire on Tuesday (05) after over forty-years of unblemished service in the Sri Lanka Police.

Latiff has served a number of Divisions in the Police service during his tenure, including the Commanding Officer of the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) and Director of VIP Protection.

Latiff joined the Sri Lanka Police Department as a Sub-Inspector (SI) in 1979, and was enlisted to the STF in 1983, one-year after the STF was established in the country.
