(UTV|COLOMBO) – Following information given by a Navy Intelligence Team, two persons who were transferring 18.5 of Kerela Cannabis on a motorbike for sale, were arrested by Police Special Task Force (STF) – Jaffna in Velvettithurai area, on Thursday (31).
The arrested suspects have been identified as residents of Velvettithurai and Nagarkovil areas in the ages of 38 and 27. The haul of Kerela Cannabis along with the suspects was handed over to Velvettithurai Police for onward legal action.
During the past month of January, over 527 kilograms of Kerela Cannabis were apprehended in the raids carried out by the Navy and further such operations will be continued in search of illegal drug racketeers.
