(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Spokesperson of the National Freedom Front (NFF), Mohammed Muzammil on Tuesday (29) appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit a statement over the alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Recently the CID informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court that move would be taken to obtain statements from Muzammil, Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa and his wife Shashee Weerawansa, and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa as per the revelations made by an Indian National who was in remand custody over the alleged assassination claims.
Accordingly, Weerawansa and Rajapaksa submitted their statements to the CID respectively on 28 and 23 January, 2019.
