(UTV|COLOMBO) – Based on information provided by the Navy, Officials of the Point Pedro Police apprehended a suspect with 86 kilogrammes and 400 grams of Kerala cannabis in the general area of Imbasiddi, Point Pedro on Monday (28).
The stock of cannabis has been concealed in the roof of a house in Viyaparamullai, Point Pedro, when it was recovered.
The suspect is a person aged 50-years and further investigation on the person apprehended with the haul of cannabis, is being conducted by Point Pedro Police.
During last three-weeks, over 509 kilogrammes of Kerala cannabis have been apprehended by the raids conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and further operations are being carried out all over the country by the Navy in search of illegal drug smuggling.
