Twenty-four Indians employed in Sri Lanka arrested for overstaying Visas

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Twenty-four Indian Nationals who were employed at a factory in Ingiriya have been arrested by the Department of Immigration and Emigration for overstaying their Tourist Visas on Friday (25).

They arrested following a raid last evening.

Initial investigations had revealed that the arrested Indian Nationals did not have valid Visas to be employed in Sri Lanka.

They are currently detained at the Detention Centre in Mirihana as further investigations continue into the incident.
