(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms Thalatha Atukorale is to make a special statement on Friday (25), with regard to the alleged assault on the Prison inmates at the Agunukolapelessa Prison.
According to Atukorale, a group of Prison inmates was assaulted on 22 November while another inmate was found dead within the Prison premises on 16 November, 2018.
The video footage of an incident where Prison Officers were seen assaulting a group of prison inmates, who were in remand custody at the Agunukolapelessa Prison.
The visuals were recorded by the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras of the Prison.
