1st XI Cricket: Hapuhinna and Dellon Peiris shine as Wesley hold STC to a draw

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Wesley College Colombo stubbornly held off the Thomian charge to an outright victory with just three wickets remaining at the close of play on the second day, at Mount Lavinia, on Saturday (19).

For the Thomians, skipper Sithara Hapuhinna shone with a scintilating unbeaten century (his second century this week), which included some lofty blows over the ropes (and one out of the ground and on to the rail track), whilst the former skipper Dellon Peiris returned a match bag of 10/96.

STC retained the M Sathasivam challenge trophy by virtue of being the most recent winners (in fact the Trophy has remained at Mount Lavinia since it was first introduced in 1999).
