President to chair first meeting of new Cabinet today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The first meeting of the newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers is scheduled to be held on Wednesday (02), at the President’s Official Residence under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.

Even though the new Cabinet of Ministers met for the first time on the day of their swearing-in ceremony, the meeting was limited to only twenty-minutes, as the purview of respective Ministries had not been finalised at the time.

Thereby, the meeting due to convene today discern as the first Cabinet meeting, following the issuance of the Gazette Notification on duties and functions of the respective Ministries.
